Green Energy in Wales
WDS Green Energy supply and install renewable energy technologies across Wales designed at producing cost effective ways of producing renewable green energy for homes, organisations and businesses.
Subsidies and grants are more available now than ever before with the Renewable Heat Incentive scheme and Feed in Tariffs system, which are aimed to specifically reduce the UK’s carbon footprint with the aim of getting 12% of the UK’s total energy generated through renewable energy sources by 2020.
One of the most recent and contemporary developments has been underfloor heating. Our underfloor heating systems are compatible with a variety of central heating systems and because the underfloor heating needs only low temperature hot water, the running costs of the system is much lower than radiator based central heating systems.
A more conventional and widespread green energy source is through solar PV (photovoltaics) technology. Homes and buildings with large south facing roof structures lean particularly towards solar panels more than any other form of renewable technology, where the solar thermal radiation that is absorbed can help produce both solar electricity and solar hot water. Solar panels are easily set up and can be extended to form larger solar PV systems if needed.
Heat pumps, such as air source heat pumps and ground source heat pumps are another extremely efficient and green way of providing hot water and heating for a building or property and work on the premise of extracting heat from the local environment, whether from the ground, water or air.
WDS Green Energy also supplies and installs wind turbines and Wales is perfectly situated geographically for this technology with the country lying on the fringes of Europe, with large areas exposed to prevailing winds.
