Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Installation in Llangennith, Gower, Swansea

Llangennith Village Hall is situated in the centre of Llangennith village and is a stone’s throw from the stunning Gower coastline with beaches famed for its sand, sea and surf.

The village hall, run as a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation is used for many functions from book fayres to social evenings and classes, making it the hub of a thriving rural community.

The Problem:

The latest rise in electricity prices prompted the village hall committee to take a hard look at other ways of bringing power to the building.

WDS Green Energy, a Cardiff based renewable energy company with offices in the Gower was contacted by the committee to see whether they could provide the answer.

The Solution:

With a good south-facing roof, WDS Green Energy were able to design and install a PV panel system that would give the hall just under 4kW of electricity, thus slashing the electricity costs of running the village hall and bringing them in added revenue from the Feed-in Tariff.

The Benefits:

The PV panel installation went very smoothly and the trustees of the hall were delighted with the results. Now Llangennith village hall can take advantage of the electricity they are creating with their photovoltaic system, thus saving them money on their running costs.

They are also benefiting from the Feed-in Tariff which is bringing them in estimated payments and savings in the region of £1900 per year.
